Adult Education - Fall 2022

Riot Act Inc. is thrilled to announce the launch of our Adult Education Program. Class will begin Tues. Oct. 25 at 6pm in Riot Act’s Studio at the Center for the Arts. Register on Riot Act’s website www.riotactinc.org.

Have you ever wished you had more ways to explore and express your creativity? Do you love the spoken word and how it is expressed through literature, stage and cinema? Do you wonder how you present yourself to the world, verbally and physically? Have you ever wanted to express your imagination and dreams through performance? Have you ever wondered how actors make combat look so real on stage and screen? Join us to find the answers.

Riot Act, Inc. developed a curriculum for community members to learn more about all aspects of theatre. Our first six week workshop will focus on Acting Technique and Improvisation taught by BJ Hanford. Classes will run Tues. nights from 6-8pm Oct. 25, Nov. 1, Nov. 8, Nov. 15, Nov. 29, and Dec. 6.

BJ Hanford spent 22 years of professional dancing, singing, and acting in NYC followed by 10 years of directing, choreographing, and teaching at Dancers’ Workshop. After a 15-year hiatus from theatre life as a short order cook and chef at guest ranches and Four Seasons, she returned to theatre with a proud commitment to Riot Act, Inc.

This six week workshop is offered at a low price of just $120 for the whole 6 weeks. We must have a minimum of 6 students to run this workshop, so get your friends to sign up with you! No prior experience required. (Teens and adults only please.)
